Blairgowrie school conversion poised for planning

Blairgowrie school conversion poised for planning Corryard Developments and McKenzie Strickland Associates have worked up designs for the renovation and conversion of the former Hill Primary, Blairgowrie, to form new homes ahead of a formal planning application expected within the next few weeks.

Corryard were appointed preferred bidder for the redevelopment by Perth and Kinross Council earlier this year and intend to carve out 18 modern apartments within the 19th century building.

Each home will be allocated two parking spaces and most will benefit from a private garden, with apartments ranging in size from 150 to 195sq/m.

The boarded up school is a priority for development in the town although a decision to pass up a community led plan to turn the building into a community hub, cinema and café has disappointed some.

Subject to approval work could get underway on the scheme by the spring.
